Unfortunately, because of crisis tournament BaltCUP-SUMMER 2009 is cancelled.

3-rd international tournament BaltCUP-GMI has sensationally come to the end. The difference between the first and twelfth place has made only 3 points !  
Various norms have executed at once 4 sportsmans, including two have executed norm of the international grand master.

By phenomenal efforts has won tournament Aleksander Georgiev who has sufferred defeat in the first round from Igor Kirzner. For a victory Alexander needed to win 4 (!) games, including against the strongest grand masters Aleksander Getmansky and Andrey Kalmakov. Result of the champion of 12 points.


The second place on factor was occupied with the ex-champion of World Harm Wiersma from the Netherlands. Traditionally he has remained is dissatisfied with result. It is no wonder, in fact Harm tried to combine game with work of the journalist. Result - 11 points.

The third place was occupied with the champion of the Netherlands of 2008 Ronald Heusdens who twice in previous tournaments BaltCUP vainly tried to confirm norm of the international grand master. This time he played very confidently and has taken away home a fine cup and a prize. Result - 11 points.

 At once 2 sportsmen have executed norms of the international grand master. It is taken the fourth place with result of 11 points Artem Ivanov (Ukraine) and the lithuanian player Aleksey Domchev taken the fifth place with the same result. Artem for the first time has executed norm while Aleksey in the near future can be congratulated on assignment of this honorary title. Ivanov has added to a rating of 14 points, and Domchev 13.


  
On 10 points have typed Auke Scholma (Netherlands), Aleksander Getmansky (Russia) and Sven Winkel (Netherlands). The sixth prize-winning places have got Scholma. Getmansky has occupied 7 place, Winkel was the eighth.
Unfortunately, superb and reliably played Auke Scholma could not confirm norm of the international grand master and most likely will lose status "A" (the special form of encouragement of leading sportsmen in the Netherlands).

    
On 9 points the winner of first tournament BaltCUP Aleksander Baljakin (Netherlands), winner from Georgiev - Igor Kirzner (Ukraine), Andrey Kalmakov (Russia) and Valery Kudriavcev (Lithuania) have typed. Kudriavcev thus has executed norm of the international master and has added to a rating of 14 points.

 
7 points have typed Vaidas Stasytis (Lithuania) and Matriona Nogovotsina (Russia). Matriona has lost in a rating 53 spots, but has executed norm of master FMJD among men
